Frances, To the best of my memory, there are no Holts named "Charles" in at least the first two or three generations of the descendants of Germanna's Michael Holt. Michael Holt and all of his known descendants had moved to Orange County, NC by about 1765 (or at least prior to the Revolutionary War). Michael Holt's son Nicholas married Eva Willheit (or Wilhite, if you prefer) who was a daughter of Michael Willheit (German immigrant) around 1740 while living in the Madison County, VA area. They are my direct ancestors. Other Willheit descendants also moved to Orange County, NC in this time frame. And still other Willheit's moved to what became known as Wilhite's Station near Cullman, AL.
