Learned listers, I need help ... Researching Zebulon Smith 1758-1840 of Sullivan or Washington, Tennessee I Found the following information in a book titled "Some Tennessee Heroes of the Revolution, compiled from Pension Statements by Zella Armstrong five parts on one volume Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc Baltimore 1975 pp 114-115 Zebulon Smith applied for revolutionary pension while residing in Sullivan County, Sept. 24, 1832, when he was "aged seventy-four past". The date and place of his birth and the names of his parents are not given in his pension application. I know that Sullivan County TN. was formed from Washington County, TN. My family tree left to me states he was born 1758, in either Sullivan or Washington County, Tennessee, and died about 1840 in Sullivan County, TN. I am wondering if this was actually a part of Virginia or North Carolina, at that time? another source I found US and International marriage records 1560-1900 lists Zebulon Smith (b. 1759 in TN) married Sarah Dungan (b. 1760 TN) 1783 in Tennessee.
