Does any person know if this John Wilhite purchasing land in Fayette County by warrant 19 Aug. 1782 could be any other John Wilhite except the John married to Lucy Stapp 1769 in Orange County, VA and son of Michael Willhoite(sic) and Mary Ballenger? Mary Ballenger must be Michael's second wife if their marriage date of c 1756 in Culpeper County is correct. Problem: I have John born 1745. I have a copy of John buying land in Fayette County, VA-KY and a deed signed Jan. 20, 1783 and more land in 1784. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can find when the land was sold, it may/should name a wife. If he was married at the time, his wife should have to sign off on the sale. Take care.
