May I recommend that you subscribe to these websites and post your queries there. You did well--you posted DATES, which is wonderful. _valouisa-l-request@rootsweb.com_ (mailto:valouisa-l-request@rootsweb.com) also to _VA-SOUTHSIDE-request@rootsweb.com_ (mailto:VA-SOUTHSIDE-request@rootsweb.com) Rootsweb has been taken over by Ancestry.com and the subscription process is different these days, but it is still FREE, thank goodness. (I subscribe to a few in United Kingdom, and the people are very helpful there, because a lot of records are centralized, and the censuses have not been destroyed!) Now, a few deeds and other Louisa Co. documents have been put on a webpage, and, fortunately for all of us, some kind person composed an index. This is far from complete, so don't give up hope. These are notes taken when a professional genealogist, Janice L. Abercrombie, was doing research for a client. Notes are not the same as transcribing a whole book of deeds or church records or court records. This is NOT a rootsweb or genforum or any particular organized genealogical website. Good luck in your searches. This is a surname index, which will link you with deeds of persons with that surname. It is a hit or miss proposition. If you are interested in some inexpensive books--abstracts of deeds, church records, tithable lists of early Louisa Co., write me privately. _http://trevilians.com/deeds/deedmain.htm_ (http://trevilians.com/deeds/deedmain.htm) (The Germanna Colonies rootsweb is mostly for those of us who are descended from several groups of Germans brought over [through England in some cases] ca 1714 and 1717 and perhaps later to work in the so-called iron mines of Virginia. Governor Spotswood was involved in this scheme.) (It is better to post to a county rootsweb--or a State rootsweb--when you have some details about your ancestry. One person was right about photography--a newish invention!!! Oh, yes, and always give some dates in your queries!!! Many people don't give dates, hence no responses.) E.W.Wallace who has made all the mistakes one can make in genealogy wrong place--wrong time, etc. **************Play online games for FREE at Games.com!
