    1. [GERMANNA] John Huftman (or Hustman) - is he a Germanna Colonist?
    2. Again While trolling Vol. 3 of Nell Marion Nugent's Cavaliers & Pioneers, 1695-1732, looking for patents for a certain Harris of the area around Hanover Co. in this time period, on the same page (p. 402) as an entry for Christopher Simberman is an entry for JOHN HUFTMAN (or Hustman), 400 acs (N.L.), Spotsylv. Co., in St. George's Par; on both sides the Robinson Riv., adj. Andrew Kirkcer, on the White Oak Run; against mouth of the Deep Run; his own; Micall Willhide ; & George Wood; 25 Aug 1733; , p. 252, 40 Shill. [Patent Book No. 14] I suspect he is John Huffman of the second Germanna colony. What are your thoughts? Although almost all the patent abstracts are on the Library of Virginia website at _http://www.lva.lib.va.us/whatwehave/land/index.htm_ (http://www.lva.lib.va.us/whatwehave/land/index.htm) I discovered that once in a while, one of the watercourses, or a neighbor, is omitted from the land description in the LVA abstract. So for me--back to Nell Marion Nugent and later volumes of C&P compiled by Dennis Ray Hudgins and published by the Virginia Genealogical Society in the last several years. One has to keep in mind that the counties kept dividing.
