    1. Re: [GERMANNA] John Huftman (or Hustman) - is he a Germanna Colonist?
    2. As Barb Price has said, the patent referred to below does belong to John Huffman who came with the First Colony. He had about six or seven patents or grants in the Robinson River Valley, the last one for more than 3,500 acres. In spite of the fact there are so many patents and grants, where each generally includes all of the previous patents or grants, they are extremely hard to read. The final grant is plotted in the newest Foundation book, "The Second Germanna Colony and Other Pioneers. It was taken from an issue of Beyond Germanna. John Huffman kept adding land to his original patent as his second wife bore a succession of twelve children, all of whom lived. The George Wood referred to is George Utz, his wife's stepfather. She was Maria Sabina Charlotta Barbara Volck. John Huffman called her Folg in his family Bible (Folg sounds much like Volck, her true name). -- John.Blankenbaker@comcast.net -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Hdanw@aol.com > > JOHN HUFTMAN (or Hustman), 400 acs (N.L.), Spotsylv.
