According to Dr. Holtzclaw in The Germanna Record No. 14, Frances/Frankey Holtzclaw married John Hitt on 25 Nov 1793 in Fauquier Co VA.  In the sources available to me, I cannot locate a marriage bond or return for Frances.  In the estate papers of Joseph Holtzclaw, her father, her name is given as Frankey Hitt.  So she apparently did marry a Hitt.  Does anyone have a source that they can share that would provide some proof of her marriage? I have John P. Alcock's book, Fauquier Familes, 1759-1799, as well as the supplement he published to that volume.  He does not list a marriage for John Hitt and Frances/Frankey Holtzclaw.
