Well, I can't say I've visited an older homestead, but I have visited the village when an earlier ancestor lived and the old part of the church where he worshipped. While there I attended the communion service on Sunday and was welcomed to receive communion. Hochdorf-Nagold formerly Hocdorf a Horb. has records showing my earliest ancestor Hans Katz being born there before 1475. The tax and military records are available back to the early 1500s. Land records are still not transcribed and are not readily available. The first Katz, my ancestor, left in 1738 and over 350 relatives left over the next 200 plus years for America. The last known one coming in 1953. This village of Hochdorf had about 65 residents come in two different ships. One in 1749 and another in 1751. All were rather closely related.
