    3. Dear Winifred, Thank you for your suggestion. I am blocked with my g-g-grandfather, Alfred Martin, b. 1808, allegedly in North Carolina. He married a Liney Unk, b 1810, allegedly in North Carolina. They had a son, William Alfred, b. 1847, allegedly in NC. He married Bedy/Beady/Beadie Terry, b. 1850, Western Division of Wake Cty, NC. I found *Merdten*/Martin, Johnan jost/John Joseph in the list of 1714 Colony from Siegerland. Is he mine? I don't know. The funny thing is, while I was in Germany in 1974, the natives said I must be German because I look so German. As I was growing up, I heard we were Scot-Irish with some French, Welsh, Irish, and German. After reading several history books about the Scot-Irish migration from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, we could be. I think my ancestors came to the Piedmont of NC through the middle of Virginia. History is fascinating, isn't it. On Thu, Feb 5, 2009 at 8:42 PM, Winifred K Miller <winnie.miller@att.net>wrote: > Saw your post on the Martin Family.
