    3. Don, I am not even aware of the circumstantial evidence. I think for too long we have not gone outside of the box. Granted, the Robinson theory may out of the box but certainly so far has no proof to got with it. All we can do with hypothesis is prove or disprove them. The normal method is to disprove it first. If it can't be disproved, then we work to prove it. I agree that the Weatherall theory has been disproved, at last as far I can ascertain. I don't know even know how it got started to begin with, much less became "fact." The Robinson theory is shaky, to say the least. But when one encounters a full set of given names between one family and the next, and a locality of the same area, it is foolish not to pursue that lead and see where it leads. 3. To the best of my knowledge, John Berry's... Will dated 16 May 1779, proved 5 July 1779 in Culpeper County, Virginia. Witness were Elizabeth Towles, Ann, Mary and John Witherall (Wetherall). ...circumstantial... -- http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/GERMANNA_COLONIES/1999-08/0935548301 From: "Worth S. Anderson" <wsa@crosslink.net> Date: Tue, 24 Aug 1999 22:31:41 -0400 I was interested to see that you list the wife of John Berry as Jemima Weatherall. I've previously commented on this list that there might be some connection between the Berrys and the Weatheralls, since all of the witnesses to John Berry's will were members of the George Weatherall family. However, I'm not aware of any evidence actually showing that John Berry's wife was a Weatherall. The will of George Weatherall does not mention any daughter named Jemima. -- I find various guesses on the net! Most seem to be based on various circumstances (hopeful guesses). Middle names. Yadda, yadda, yadda... No one seems to have any documentation to support their theory! But, as far a John Berry goes, I'm relatively satisfied that his father was George Berry. (See the Germanna Archives for supportive evidence.) Certainly, check out the Robinson Theory! ~don -----Original Message----- From: germanna_colonies-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:germanna_colonies-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Craig Kilby Sent: Sunday, February 08, 2009 1:51 PM To: germanna_colonies@rootsweb.com Subject: [GERMANNA] Jemima wife of John Berry Don, I am not even aware of the circumstantial evidence.
