At the Kentucky Archives in Frankfort, I was able to hold and touch my ancestor John Funk's original divorce pleadings from 1798, which was kind of an odd thrill for a family law attorney.... Touched and photocopied another ancestor's War of 1812 "invoice" to the federal government for the costs of his militia at the National Archives...patted his gravestone in Jeffersontown, KY, and said, "I know what you did!" I hope many of you will come to the reunion in Virginia this year, where the biggest thrill for this 2nd colony descendant is to sit in a church where I know my ancestors sat, and gaze out at the surrounding mountains as they must have done. It is a great feeling. Virginia Nuta
