To my fellow Holtzclaw descendants, If any of you who are a Holtzclaw descendant have any information on your own ancestors and, specifically, any information concerning how, where, and when they moved from Virginia (or wherever else) to Kentucky, I would love to make contact with you. As you can see below, I'm the editor of the state historical society's family history and geneaolgy quarterly, and I'm planning to do an article roughly covering the subject, "The Holtzclaws Come to Kentucky." I would appreciate any information you have, but I am especially interested in any family history of route, timeframe, and method our Holtzclaw ancestors used in moving to this state. I am giving a talk at next year's NGS Conference in Charleston, SC, and it would be nice to be able to frame some of my comments around our Holtzclaw forebears. My assumption is that the early Holtzclaw family members came out of Virginia by way of the Wilderness Road. I'd love to know more and hope some of you have that kind of in-depth information.
