I should have notified everyone 3 days ago about the problem at Rootsweb/Ancestry. Their HelpDesk identifies the problem, which was supposed to have been fixed yesterday. The problem is still there today. In the future, when you encounter problems at Rootsweb/Ancestry, go to http://helpdesk.rootsweb.ancestry.com/. On the right, inside a yellow box, there will be notes on any problems they're experiencing. One way to get through this problem is to input your data and click to access it; it no new window opens within 3-5 seconds, just keep clicking. Sometimes it takes many clicks to finally get to the data. That said, I can find no data that Cassandra SHOWN descended from the SCHÖNE family. Different databases give her name as Cassandra and as Katherine. Any databases with either's pedigree show a Peter SHOWN, Jr., whose father was Peter SHAUN, Sr., and whose grandfather was Nicholas SHAUN, both from MD. It is interesting, though, that SHOWN and SCHONE/SCHÖNE would be pronounced the same in America, and it IS also possible that SCHÖNE could have been written by a clerk as SHAUN. Anyone know of a member of the Virginia SCHÖNE/SCHONE family ending up in MD around 1725?
