Last evening I received an email from a gentleman named Robin Yeager - he found some of my online gen data and thought I was more closely connected to William Gideon CRIGLER, a Mosby Ranger. Well, no, that CRIGLER is a 3rd cousin 4 times removed (3C4R) and I let him know - but he said even more distant cousins are welcome at their reunion or to supply any know info. I asked him if he were connected to the Germanna Yeager group and he responded, "I don't know if I am a Germanna Yager/Yeager. I haven't done any digging on my family in years. I did find the Yeagers in Northern Kentucky in 1840. My branch eventually moved north across the Ohio River and settled in Cincinnati. I was born and raised in Cincinnati. We just had a tour group of Germanna folks (I think they were Germanna descendants) come through the Rector House (in Atoka) two Fridays ago. Mosby formed Co A, 43rd Va Cav at the Rector House on June 10, 1863." Anyway, here is his message and I am thinking some folks on the various lists would be very interested in this: "Looking for Mosby’s Rangers (43rd Virginia Cavalry) Descendants/Relatives! My name is Robin Yeager. I am doing volunteer research on Mosby's Rangers for the Mosby Heritage Area Association (MHAA), http://www.mosbyheritagearea.org/. I am collecting vital stats, census records, family history, photographs, stories, etc. for the MHAA as well as building a contact list for the 3rd Reunion of Mosby’s Rangers Descendants (and relatives/kin) that the MHAA will host in June 2011.
