On September 18, the Germanna Foundation will be holding an event to celebrate the U.S. Constitution with assistance from the Center for the Constitution at James Madison's Montpelier. See our calendar entry at http://www.germanna.org/node/387 I would like to relate to the attendees how many governments and constitutions Germanna people have lived under since emigrating from German-speaking lands: British Empire, Articles of Confederation, West Florida Republic, Republic of Texas, the California Republic, the Confederates States of America. Am I missing any? Can anyone name for me the Germanna descendants who lived in the West Florida Republic (I have the three Kemper brothers), Republic of Texas, or the California Republic?
