One idea that I have but have not had time to pursue yet is to organize a Germanna Foundation research trip to Salt Lake City. This could be formatted in several ways and could be open to any of our friends interested in genealogy not just to members. Given other Foundation activities and weather concerns, mid September - mid November would probably be the best time to schedule this. I actually went to SLC the weekend before Thanksgiving 2009 and practically had the Family History Library to myself. If you are interested in a potential Germanna trip to Salt Lake City please provide some feed back. Consider the following: Where would you like to stay? As close to the Family History Library as possible, within a walk of a mile or less (SLC has very long city blocks) or further away if there is a street car or scheduled shuttle to the library available? What activities would you like to see? Germanna specific seminars? How many organized meals? Tours of local sites? Transportation to the site would be on your own. Most of the downtown hotels have shuttles from the airport. Anything else ... Thanks, Cathi
