    3. I've been jumping in and out on the Germanna Colonies Listserv archives. What a gold mine of exchange and discussion. I hope those of you who have been on here awhile will forgive me as the "new guy" for interposing here and there. I would like to throw my support to those who were discussing revising and updating the Germanna Record volumes rather than just reprinting them. As a Holtzclaw descendant, I shudder as I go through B. C. Holtclaw's "The Genealogy of the Holtzclaw Family" because there is not documentation to substantiate anything. I would love to hear from anyone who can 'bring me up to date" but it appears to me that B. C. Holtzclaw was a very well respected genealogical researcher and writer, but the reader of his book today has no way of knowing where any of these statements of genealogical fact came from. Admittedly, I have been on the Germanna Web site off and on, but being a brand-new member, have not gone through it with a fine-toothed comb to gather all of the current news and updates. I would love to see a bibliographic essay on Germanna genealogical works that would expose us to the broad collection of materials and highlight some of the more recent scholarship and research in the various Germanna families in the last few decades. I am like unto a sponge so I'm more than glad for anyone to enlighten me so I'll be much smarter on what's been published, what's being updated, and what's planned for the future. 2. Don, You will want to read BC's subsequent book that he wrote several years after The Holtzclaw Genealogy, Ancestry and Descendants of the Nassau Siegen Immigrants to Virginia, 1714-1750. He corrects errors and does give many more sources, though not all of them!
