HENRY MILLER descendants, I need your help ! My problem is sorting out the various Culpeper/Madison and Culpeper/ Rappannock County HENRY MILLERS and finding sources for the Miller information I do have. HENRY MILLER #1 Culpeper/Madison Co. My interest is in the Culpeper/ Madison Co.HENRY MILLER with wife SUSANNA SIBLER who came from Pa. to the Robinson River area in Va. sometime before Jan 1772, when some of his children were baptized in the German Lutheran Church ( Hebron). His will was written in 1796. He died in 1801 and his Estate was settled in 1807 ( Mad.Co.W.B.#1 pp.271,272.281-3,290-5,) The baptismal sponsors for five of their eleven children were from the MAJER/MAYER/MOYER and VOLCK families. Sponsor: George UTZ'S mother was a MAJER/MAYER and his wife, Margaret Weber's mother was a MAJER/VOLCK Sponsor: Elizabeth (BLANKENBAKER) Wayland's mother was either a MAJER/MAYER or a VOLCK. Sponsor: Christina ( FINK) Blankenbaker's mother was most likely Anna Christina VOLCK At least one and maybe two of the children who were baptized in Pa., had a MOYER sponsor, Was it Henry Miller or Susanna Sibler who was related to the Majer/Mayers or Volcks? I believe it was Susanna Sibler but I have no proof. Not only were the MAJER/MAYER/MOYER and VOLCK baptismal sponsors, they also sold Henry Miller land. 7 Sept 1776 John Hanback and Mary ( dau. of Sabina VOLCK and John Huffman) sold HENRY MILLER 20 acres of land. Witt: Ambrose Bohannan, John Back, Henry Back March 1781 John Hanback and Mary sold HENRY MILLER 50 acres on Little River.... to Robinson River... to corner of Henry Miller's own land... ( part of this land was given to Mary from her father, John Huffman) Witt; James Barbour, John Weaver, John Miller The 1787- Culpeper Co. Va. Goodrich Lightfoot Land Tax list shows HENRY MILLER with 78 acres of land. The 1788- Culpeper Co. Va. John Hume Land Tax list shows HENRY MILLER with 78 acres of land, 21 Apr 1788 HENRY MILLER along with James Barbour and William Eastham wittnessed the Will of John Christian Lipp 1790 - HENRY MILLER, Andreas Gaar and John Weaver Sr.made an inventory of the estate of Michael Utz. Will of HENRY MILLER of Madison Co, ( 21 Nov 1796 Madison Co. Will Book 1) HENRY MILLER Sr. to his wife, Susanna, fifty one pounds, thirteen shillings and household furnishings and other property.....son Adam to have the plantation ....the balance of his estate to be sold and equally divided among his daughters and his wife... his clothes and silver plate to be divided among his four sons. Henry Miller Jr. b.1759 ( Born in Philadelphia, Pa. married Achsah Warner in Frederick Co. Va.on 14 May 1782, died in Culpeper Co. Va. on 7 Jan 1833.(.From a Family Group sheet of Henry Miller Family. No sources given.) I question the Frederick Co. marriage. What proof is there that this Henry Jr. was the son of Henry and Susanna Sibler? 4. John Miller b.1762 (Married Nancy HITT dau of Peter HITT and Sarah James.in Fauquier Co. Va. Died 1 Aug.1841 in Rappahannock Co. Va. :( From Henry Miller Family Group Sheet. No source given ) I do not believe the John Miller who married Nancy HITT was the John Miller b.1762, son of Henry and Susanna Miller. Most likely Henry and Susanna Miller's son John b.1762. was the John Miller who married Susanna, daughter of George UTZ and Margaret WEAVER.,John and Susanna ( UTZ) Miller's neighbors in 1795 were Adam UTZ, Absolum UTZ ( his brother-in-law), Issac HAYNES, ( his brother-in-law) Henry Terrel and Adam Yager and his wife, Juriah Berry. In 1798, John and Susanna (UTZ) Miller sold 94 acres of land to Adam UTZ and may have moved in the early 1800's to the Naked Creek area of Rockingham Co. Va. 5 Susannah Miller b. 1763 6. Inventory of a HENRY MILLER Sr.in 1839 W.B.A. p.314 What if any is the relationship between Henry Miller #1 and Henry Miller #2 ? Are they the same person as some claim? I believe that Henry #1 & Henry #2 were different men. Both had sons named Henry and John. They were probably related in some way.and have been unintentionally mixed up. All help is appreciated.
