    3. Would be very interested in going to SLC...have been there many times, lots to see and do, and beautiful country outside of the city if you have an extra day or so to travel...I prefer organized meals, gives me an opportunity to meet new people...not particular about location of hotel, but I think there is one pretty close to the research center, which might be convenient for people who fly in and don't want to rent a car...thanks! One idea that I have but have not had time to pursue yet is to organize a Germanna Foundation research trip to Salt Lake City.  This could be formatted in several ways and could be open to any of our friends interested in genealogy not just to members.  Given other Foundation activities and weather concerns, mid September - mid November would probably be the best time to schedule this.  I actually went to SLC the weekend before Thanksgiving 2009 and practically had the Family History Library to myself. If you are interested in a potential Germanna trip to Salt Lake City please provide some feed back.  Consider the following: Where would you like to stay?  As close to the Family History Library as possible, within a walk of a mile or less (SLC has very long city blocks) or further away if there is a street car or scheduled shuttle to the library available? What activities would you like to see?  Germanna specific seminars?  How many organized meals?  Tours of local sites? Transportation to the site would be on your own.  Most of the downtown hotels have shuttles from the airport. Anything else ... 3. This sounds very interesting..... I think I am descendent of Germanna, but have been blocked for many years, by not being able to find the parents of George W. Yager, born in Lancaster Pa @1808. He was married to Barbara Carpenter I believe her father was Andrew (Andreas) Carpenter (Zimmerman) of the same location. I also am a descendant of Christopher Barlow/Parlur and have Fisher ancestors as well. 3. Perhaps a different line of Fishers then. My line is from Lewis Fisher - b. 1710 and Anna Barbara Blankenbaker whose son Stephen Albert with wife Mary Magdalene Garr migrated to Mercer County, Kentucky. Stephen had a brother named Adam who also migrated to Mercer County, KY. Adam's son Adam, Jr., b. 1783, in Mercer, now Boyle County, KY came to Jackson County, Missouri in 1834. His was one of several prominent pioneers of Jackson County, MO whose names are listed on a monument standing on the Courthouse lawn in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri. He was also in the War of 1812. I do not have any connection, that I know of, to the Pennsylvania Fisher family. All of the sons of Lewis Fisher went to Kentucky. Sorry I can be of no help to you with your Fishers. Judy On Jul 26, 2010, at 4:22 PM, Janice Murnan wrote: > Nice to hear from you.
