I also have similar pages for other states: Tennessee: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~george/countyformations/tennesseeformationmaps.html Pennsylvania: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~george/countyformations/pennsylvaniaformationmaps.html North Carolina: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~george/countyformations/northcarolinaformationmaps.html Maryland: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~george/countyformations/marylandformationmaps.html Kentucky: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~george/countyformations/kentuckyformationmaps.html You can also navigate to other states than VA in the example given by Marilyn above. Just replace "virginia" with the state of your choice: e.g. http://www.mystategenealogy.com, where "state" is replaced by the name of the state you're researching. (No CAPS, all lower case.) Once on the website for that state, scroll down and look on the left for "County Formation Maps". On the next page, scroll down in the middle of the page to find your state page. OR... Go directly to FamilyHistory101 and look for your state: http://www.familyhistory101.com/maps.html Hope this helps, Sarge My Germanna Database at Rootsweb: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=germanna My Germanna Website at Rootsweb: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry/~george/index.html
I have been reading all the notes on different programs, hoping to see someone with the OLD [discarded] FAMILY ORGINS... does anyone have the disc of " "Family Orgins" # 10 or even earlier ? Family Orgins sold out to someone, nothing else has suited my fancy since ..I started using theirs back in 1995.. Now I want to transfere the program from one computer to another one, and I made the mistake of loaning my program to a cousin a couple years ago, who lost it .. I would love to buy, borrow or steal , a disc with the FAMILY ORGINS program on it for the computer at the store which I am now using Roots Magic. I hear I am having visitors mid July, and I hope to have my data base up to par for all of you. See you then.. {but would love to have family orgins before then.. joan tanner ps.. I now have e-mail at store---if you need it during the day >[email protected]<
Family Origins and Rootsmagic were both written by Bruce Buzbee. There is an article that tells what happened at http://genealogy.about.com/library/bl_family_origins.htm. I found a version 6 at ebay if that far back interests you. Mary E. On 6/19/2010 12:39 PM, Joan R.
