    1. [GERMANNA] Typo correction on John Berry -Ancestry 1st & 2nd Colonies site
    2. Sarge - I corrected what appears to be a typo for John Berry (ca 1700-1779) on the Ancestry Germanna 1st and 2nd Colonies site..  The date on the will  on the site  is 16 May 1779.  The data entered was 1777 - so I changed it to 1779.  We are still waiting for someone (Craig offered) to look up the original copy of the will to verify the dates.   I would also like to change the order of the names of the children.  In his will, John Berry put them in an order which indicates date of birth (except for Betty (Elizabeth) Berry Sutton, in which he grants her children her share of the inheritance since she is deceased.   Ann Berry is shown as Ann Whilon.  On the Inventory of the Sale of the Estate of John Berry, Ann Whitten is listed several times, as is a William Whitten.  I believe WHITTEN is the name info will be found under.   I would also be interested in knowing what is the source for Jemima Berry being "Catherine Jemima Weatherall"  Have documents been found?  I checked the sources on your Broyles family page and they do not give their source for identifying Jemima as a Weatherall/Witherall.  I would suggest we still keep Jemima as Maiden Name Unknown  or MNU.  There are other people who have done much research on the Berry/Berrey family, some to be published soon (I hope).  It is my opinion, from the first and middle names of the 3rd and 4th generations, that we should go to Pr William/Stafford County VA - even w many Stafford County files destroyed, to link up and determine where the families lived for Jemima's maiden name, and their ancestors..  Craig also sent Germanna Research a sighting of John and Jemima Berry in Amhurst Cty VA - it's from the rootsweb message boards under John Berry.   A Listing of the names without dates but in order,  would be a good use for my empty Berreypatch blog.                               http://www.fromtheberreypatch-barjo.blogspot.com/   James (possibly Lewis) and Elizabeth Finks Berry/Berrey - None of the Missouri family's researchers show an Isabella as one of their children.   One has found an Isabella as a daughter of Lawson, or  in the Lawson Berrey line, w a marriage to a John Forsythe, Missouri.    I have James Berry as going to Hannibal MO in 1834, as a steamboat captain on the Mississippi River for 2 years, then going to Santa Fe in 1836.  1836 is when many people went from Madison County VA to Ralls, Monroe, Audrain, Howard ctys etc.  How and where  would he have learned to captain a steamboat on a river as difficult as the Mississippi????     I AM LOOKING FOR WHERE JAMES BERREY DIED (a how would be great, too) , A WILL, PROBATE IF DIED INTESTATE, OBITUARY, NOTE FROM FILES, ARTICLES,   NEWSPAPER ETC   JAMES BERREY (also spelled BERRY), born Madison County, Virginia, March 22,1783 , died July 22 1840 in ?????   Buried in Berrey Cemetery (NW of Mexico on Ken Wilson farm)  James is the son of Acrey Berrey and Sarah Hurt, Madison Cty, VA, came to Hannibal MO in 1834, moved to Santa Fe, MO 1836, in Madison County Virginia in 1838 for Mark Finks estate sale. He is the husband of Elizabeth Finks Berrey and father of Ann Hume Berrey Crigler, Henry Lewis Berrey, Osborne Warren Berrey, William Jameson Berrey, Jasper Newton Berrey, John Jefferson Berrey, posssibly   Isabella Berrey Forsythe..     Hopefully someone who is descended from these people will have the information I am looking for.
