Does anyone have in their Barry info a female who would have married James Stigler, of King Geo Co. VA, died She d @ 1757. Was her husband Joseph Berry? James Stigler appears in a number of court rec. pertaining to the Berrys in the mid 1700s in King Geo Co. I have had to sort out the Augusta/Washington County VA John Berry information from the Culpeper/Madison County VA John Berry and family. And yes, there are more. Locate the Berry DNA site administered by j imberry@langolier.com and look at the names of the people in all the sites he has identified. May help you. An Inventory of the State of Mr John Berry’s Decd Estate [PDF]
Jan - this appears to be the same copy I have of John Berry's Will.. At the bottom, title of PDF should read "An Inventory of the Sale of Mr J ohn Berrys Dec Estate The W, rather than a Mr in front of John Berry's name. Is this where it first appeared i.e. w as it on the title of " Inventory: Estate of John Berry Culpeper County Virginia Will Book B, pp 329-332 "In obedience to an Order of Culpeper Court we the Subscribers being first sworn do value and appraise the slaves and personal Estate of W. John Berry deceased as follows viz: One Negro fellow £700 ~ 0 ~ 0" etc. On the Inventory of the Sale it is definitely Mr with a small raised r. Does the Original of your listing below really read as a W??? Barbara Berrey Stotler P.S. I'm hoping Harry Norford, D Franks, and Lynnea Dickinson are reading through this also. Is it ok for me to forward it to them??????? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jan Hensley" <janhensley2000@yahoo.com> To: "germanna colonies" <germanna_colonies@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 7, 2011 2:45:41 PM Subject: Re: [GERMANNA] John & Jemima Berry My transcription of John's will and estate.
