    3. This is fantastic news because JSTOR has all of the Virginia Magazine Of History and Biographys from way back. These are a terrific resource for students of Virginia's history! -Jeff Aylor Sent from my iPod > > Message: 7 > Date: Thu, 6 Oct 2011 22:15:26 -0400 > From: "Lee Anne Center" <lacenter@comcast.net> > Subject: [GERMANNA] JSTOR will make Journal content published in US > prior to 1923 * prior to 1870 elsewhere available free > > > The Weekly Genealogist (New England Historic Genealogical Society) recently > sent out a notification that JSTOR will make journal content published in > the USA prior to 1923 and elsewhere prior to 1870 available free to anyone > in the world. > > > > Sometimes when I am searching for an ancestor, I get hits that bring me to a > document on JSTOR. 3. Jeff, JSTOR has both the Magazine of History (short title) but a whole lot more, including the William & Mary Quarterly since its first issue. I am not sure JSTOR is making any of this free. I access it through the Rappahannock Regional Library. The key to finding articles used to be with the Earl Swemm index. These days, it is probably searchable via a search engine. However, if JSTOR is making this content available for free now, it will be a great boon.
