One can do web searches for the various interests that we supposedly support here (on the Germanna_Colonies Mailing List), and can find many posts on other venues. Have Germanna researchers finally lost all faith in this forum? wondered that myself, when I got back from vacation and found so few osts. I enjoy reading others posts, even if most of them don't relate to my ines. I get lots of good stories to read and advice on where to look nd that is very helpful. My descent is Blankenbaker, Fisher, Garr, Kaifer. It's nice to have a ine on my dad's side that goes back as far as some of the ones on mom's ide. The Germana connection wasn't known to my dad, or probably a ouple of generations back. Mary Ellen (or Ellen Mary) Southern English as probably the person responding to the Garr genealogy letter, and she ied when my great-grandfather Southern English was only 10 (1857), so I oubt he knew anything about her heritage. The internet connected me ith the Garr genealogy book, and then with Germanna and so much else hat has interested and excited me about my family history. The Southern's weren't Germanna folks, but they are the ones I need to earn about the most. Maybe someday.
