Does anyone know what DB this deed was recorded I have pages 524-527 June 30, 1764 Culpeper Co. George Holt and Mary Magdelane his wife of Brumfield Parish, Culpeper County, to Jacob Medley of same. For 100 pounds current money, 78 acres on both side of the Robertson River in the parish aforesaid-- corner to Jacob Medley which he purchased from Jacob Blankenbeker-- corner to Michel Thomas on the north side of branch--- to Robertson River--- on the top of a hill corner to Michel Thomas George (H) Holt Mary Magdalain (X) Holt Witness James Barbour Jr., John Bohannon, Samuel French, John Lacy, Wm. (W O) O' Neal. This land must have been next to the original Blankenbaker land patent since that was the only land that Michael Thomas owned in Culpeper Co. How did Jacob Blankebaker come to own this land and who were the Holt's. I cannot figure out from the abstract that I have if Medley or Holt had the land originally. Appears (without punctuation) that Holt brought it from Blankenbaker and then sold to Medley and we can surmise that Michael and Catherine were living on adjoining land with their family. Take care.
