    3. Marilyn, I agree with the "warning". The Yates Publishing Company is notorious for merely extracting data, mainly from the records of the LDS Church, without ANY verification of validity, and putting it on Ancestry.com as "verified fact". In case anyone ever wondered why, in a search at Ancestry, there were multiple entries for, say a marriage, with different information, the answer is that most of the "Marriage Records" at Ancestry come from Yates Publishing, and they have extracted multiple entries for the same event. The ONLY time you can be assured you are seeing valid marriage data is if Ancestry has a photocopy of the actual marriage records which you can view. 3. However, There was an actual extraction process taking place for quite sometime. A person would extract all the marriage records for a period of time for a particular parish. Another would do the same for births. Sometimes it was just females. Other times just males. One way to determine if such is true, search by the parish. These are quite reliable, but one should always get the microfilm and verify the data. I found spouses and other children that way. Occasionally, I would find a bit of difference. but usually right on the button or, even I had done an incorrect interpretation of the data. But that was due to the fact I had studied the family in depth.
