I run dual monitors on my system (Windows XP Pro) and run IE 7 on one and Mozilla Firefox 3 on the other. The Germanna site comes up on both screens just fine. What is the issue? I wasn't aware until my son came Thanksgiving that we had a choice of browsers. He's the computer guru in our family. I was having a lot of problems with Internet Explorer mainly computer freezing up. He checked everything out and couldn't find a reason so changed me over to Mozilla. I'm almost afraid to say anything because it might jinx me, however, I haven't had any problems since. Mozilla is a little different and its taking some getting use to but like it so far...............just my two cents worth. Know the Stapp's and Wilhite(sic) were related and I have some papers that were from Stapp's in MO. You may want to check any MO marriages. My John Wilhite married Lucy Stapp. The DAR of others called her Lucy Hancock or another Lucy. Stapp is correct. How near is the Cemetery to St. Louis? I plan to go there in Feb. or March.

The new Germanna website www.germanna.org is built using a software called Drupal. Some of the older versions of internet browser Explorer do not support Drupal very well. I recommend downloading the free internet browser Firefox. Firefox works fine for the new Germanna site. Also, many people prefer Firefox over Explorer because it does a better job at preventing unwanted popups and has some other nice features. If you are interested here is the link for your free download: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

The background for the Germanna Foundation's web site is the deed to the 1805 acres that comprised German Town granted to John Fishback, John Hufmann and Jacob Holtzclaw. It's the same background that we use on all of our new publications, most fitting, don't you think? I like it!!! But, I'm a little biased! It is very busy but there are blue links to the articles and other pages and they come up with a basic background and are quite readable. Hi all: The site looks great, very clean, easy to read. Of course I was more than a bit surprised to see my name in the teaser. One thing I did not mention in my original post to this list, and therefore not in this article, is that the cemetery in question for the War of 1812 Gravemarking that took place after the SAR luncheon, though once the farm of Leroy Kilby, was for many, many, many years afterwards one of the HITT family farms and if I am not mistaken, quite a few of them are buried there. Several of Leroy Kilby's descendants married into the Hitt family. The farm is now out of the Hitt family and owned by four elderly women, so getting access to it will not be an easy task by any means (and please do NOT ask me to help, I didn't arrange this part of the trip--I don't even know the womens' names). However, the stones in this cemetery were transcribed many years ago by Lucia Kilby and I believe this is on file at the Rappahannock Historical Society and the Culpeper Historical Society.
