    3. Barb,   I married into the family in 1977. They are not a close bunch, nor do they save anything. I am having to find everything on my own. A slow process, but worth it.                                                                      Nona NHR --- On Fri, 7/9/10, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: From: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [GERMANNA] help with Rector line To: [email protected] Date: Friday, July 9, 2010, 9:46 AM I found the same one, too!  And I, too, used mu ancestry.com account to search the census records. Nona, do you have his death certificate and birth certificate?  He probably has a social security card, too, and perhaps a marriage record.  He died in 1968 so I'm thinking that he might have at least one of these records. 1. [GERMANNA] John J. Berr(e)y - son of Abner & Lucy - which is correct?
    2. Searching for the parents of John J. Berry/Berrey, b. abt 1817, resided in Madison Co., VA. Wife Sarah and, by 1850, had children Acrey, Waller/Walter, Martha, twins John & Sarah. I have always thought John J. Berry was a son of Abner & Lucy (Finks) Berry, Abner the son of Acrey & Mary (Hurt) Berry. However, I’ve run across the following biography. Here is an excerpt: “Robert B. Berry -- Born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on August 5, 1837, is a son of JOHN J. BERREY and Mary W. Berrey nee Lucas. His paternal grandparents were ABNER and LUCY BERREY, of MADISON county, Virginia; his maternal grandparents Fielding and Elizabeth Lucas, of Fredericksburg. His father [John J.], born in Madison county, was for forty years a prominent merchant, and is now retired from business, living in Fredericksburg, at the age of seventy-seven years; his mother is still living, aged now eighty-one years. His wife, whom he married at Fredericksburg, Virginia, September 15, 1875, is Mary G. Berrey, born in Fredericksburg. Their son, Robert McBryde Berrey, was born on the 9th of May 1879. A second son, named Charles Waite Berrey, died in July, 1877, aged one month.” Were there 2 couples by the name of Abner & Lucy Berry who had a son John J.? I’m berry confused. 1850 U.S. census Madison Co., Virginia: Berrey, John 33M Farmer $100 VA Sarah 25F VA Acrey 6M VA Waller 4M VA Martha 2F VA John 6/12M VA Sarah 6/12F VA 1850 U.S. census Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania Co., Virginia: 482/482 Berry, John J. 38M Merchant VA Berrey, Mary W. 39F VA Berrey, Mary L. 14F VA Berrey, Robt. Cathi ----- Original Message ----- From: "N Rector" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2010 8:47 AM Subject: [GERMANNA] help with Rector line Dear...everyone, I have reached a spot that I cannot find information on. I need some help, please. My husbands Grandfather was Howard V Rector of Scott, Fauquier, Virginia. He was born in May 1894. Died May 1976. I have his documentation. I cannot find much on his father, Ean B Rector, born about 1872 in Scott, Fauquier, Va. Died January, 1968, Fauquier, Va. His wife was Edna, born about 1879. Edna was also married to a man named Biship. Can anyone put me back on track with this? I'd love to have it completed by the reunion. 3. I *may* bring my 10-year-old grandson Seth with me to the reunion weekend, depending on his mom's work schedule. He attended last year and had a great time (he is not the grandson who had a little incident with another camper. lol). So, if there is room and he can go (should know soon) I would like to bring him. Then, is it okay for him to attend the church service and picnic on Sunday? Thanks! 3. It would be best to count it as a fully deductible contribution. The problem of cancelations means that someone else could not attend if it sells out On Jul 8, 2010, at 9:26 AM, "Kathleen B. 3. Marilyn, Whether I have the story on John Michael Smith, Jr. correct or not is most uncertain. Since I think he was at Hebron from about 1782 to 1785, I would guess he was in PA just before this. The location is unknown. Muhlenberg refers to someone by the name of Smith as a freebooter. JMS has disposed of his land before this time and it would appear that he was relatively independent financially. John

    2. John, do you have a time frame or place in PA that John Michael did his church work? Take care. Marilyn
