    1. Re: [GERMANNA] October 17, 2010 gravesite Ceremony to honor Frederick Tanner d.1833 Boone County KY
    2. Because of the date they purchased this land, it is thought that Maria (nee Rouse) Tanner is buried there with her husband Frederick Tanner on their old farm land. As on December 8, 1813, Allen Crisler sold this 160 acres to Frederick Tanner for $480 And his wife Maria Rouse Tanner is thought to have died in the year 1814. Therefore, we did include her name with his on the memorial monument that has been installed and being donated by the descendants. ( see picture at the website >http://www.eastonhistory.com/TannerDedication.pdf ) The DAR recorded this cemetery in "Kentucky Cemetery Records Volume I, Copyright 1960 by the Kentucky Society Daughters of the American Revolution". Burials in this cemetery are : ---F.T. (F.T. initials for Frederick Tanner) The DAR recorded that these initials were cut by hand on limestone rock (This rock is no longer there. Frederick's wife Maria Rouse Tanner is thought to be buried there also.) ---Susanna Tanner Zimmerman > daughter of Frederick and Maria Tanner who married Joshua Zimmerman. A good part of her gravestone still exists there. ---Joshua Zimmerman > his gravestone is in good condition. d. July 9, 1852, aged 80 yrs, 11 mos This should be an impressive ceremony by the SAR, with presentation of wreaths, posting of colors, history pamphlet, 13 Folds of the Flag, Rifle Salute, music (drums, fife, taps on the trumpet), and Benediction by descendant Pastor Charles Aylor. 3. To Kathy Caminiti; "Saturday, May 21st, 1814." Rev. Paul Henkle refers to the "afternoon at two o'clock I made a funeral address at the home of Joseph Rausch in memory of his sister who had died a few months before." Joseph Rausch/Rouse only had one sister. He also baptized one child - this was probably Joel Albert Rouse, grandson of Joseph. 3. Hi, Kathleen; Thank you for your response. I put another request on the Germanna query list and hope someone will respond with the website. My husband's family did not leave Germany until the 1890's to Dixon, Illinois. The Schmidt family was from Gelnhausen, NE of Frankfort am Main. Since every town had a Schmidt, my eldest son did a Y-DNA test. He only found one person in Florida. The Germans do not want to do the Y-DNA as they "know where they came from and have been there hundreds of years." My Rouse family in Kankakee, Il refuse, even though I offered to pay for the test.
