My wife's one set of great-grandparents had two children before they were married, and the third was on the way !! We're certain it was a matter of money for the wedding. They were in love and didn't want to wait to start their family. They brought all these children, both pre- and post-marital to this country, and the two great-grandparents lived to rather old ages in the Chicago area.
