Hi all, I have recently returned from out of town and going through past exchanges on this list, I was especially interested in the information about the Hunter. Family lore has it that my great grandfather, Lorenz Benz who immigrated from Germany with his family in 1880 or 1881 killed a rabbit to feed his family. I am told his punishment was that he was put in a cage-like structure on the street so that everyone going by to church or wherever could look at him and know he was being punished. Does anyone know if this was the usual punishment for this and if so how long he would have had to stay in the cage. I found everyones remarks about hunting really interesting and it really pulled together a lot of loose ends for me. I am new to the list and learning a lot.
