Hi, I have been typing up some old letters. One of them says they're having "reelish" for dinner....now surely this has to be either radish or relish. Do either of these items sound right? This letter is written in 1893 from the homestead in WA. The writer's second language is English so this may be a word from Denglisch actually (English+Deutsch). Any ideas? I saw a German-American show on PBS and I remember a segment on German pickles and wondered if it could be something like that... Thanks/Vielen Dank, Sue in Seattle
