    3. Hi could someone please explain what the C$ is -- is that the Euro $ or is Euro $ something else again. BTW I was just in Switzerland and the xchange rate was US 1$ - CHF 1.78 (Swiss Francs) Now I'm sorry that I didn't spend some time in Germany as well. Thanks Claire ----- Original Message ----- From: <lumby@air.on.ca> To: <GERMAN-LIFE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 18, 2001 6:02 PM Subject: Fwd: Re: [GERMAN-LIFE] Gas Prices >Date: Mon, 18 Jun 2001 17:58:31 -0400 >To: "Heinz L. 1. Re: Re: [GERMAN-LIFE] Gas Prices
    2. Claire: The C$ is a short form for the Canadian Dollar. The Dollar is the monitory unit of Canada, just like the monitory unit of the USA is the American Dollar. There is no such thing as the Euro Dollar. It is an American invention, to give the American public some idea of what the Euro is. The Euro is the monetary Unit of the European Union. The use of the term Euro dollar would be similar to saying that the Deutsche Mark is the German Dollar, or the Franc is the French Dollar, the Pound is the English Dollar, or the American dollar is the American Dollar. A purely American invention, regardless of what other people may say.
