Fred, Glad to find that some things don't change. S'mores were a treat when I was a Girl Scout way back in the 1940s. Not having any daughters, and the lone granddaughter is too young, I haven't kept up with Girl Scout doings. Lois
So why aren't we all in WI this week-end for the Pommern Tag? :-(( Same reason we aren't on our way to CO. It's sad when our work gets in the way of our genealogy. I happened to mention to my German cousins that I was a coin collector. That led to exchanging Germany and US coin sets at Christmas time. Perhaps I can better ID those I have. Any other Germany coin / bill collectors on the list? How about the reaction of a coin collector passing a huge tub of charity spare change in an airport by folks emptying their pockets before going through the metal detector..?? He won't tell us when he is going to be in Colorado as he is going to NM too. Gail
Fred, that looks like a stop at Coor's, a glance at the ski area, and going for a train ride. When you leave Breckenridge you will probably go over the pass thru Fairplay and then over to Buena Vista and down the gun barrel and over Wolf Creek Pass....ha!!! Someone from New Jersey and that pass..., since CO got snow last week... it has been the construction on the pass the last two years that has been a bear. If you make it to Leadville, then Twin Lakes is just down the road....at the foot of Mt. Elbert! Gail

Mona, Since you're probably the closest (within 100 miles), I declare you today's winner. :-) Oh where, Oh where, Oh "Where is Fred?" Let me tell you that modern medicine really does wonders. Had I not gone to that emergency room, I'd probably still be blind on my right eye. As it came to be the swelling went down to the point where I could see well enought o take off yesterday at 10:30 am to arrive in Missouri in the later afternoon. I'm now in Hannibal in a very nice campground with friends from Columbia. Went to see the caves today where Huck and Betty cavorted inn Twain's books. It's all real life here as these characters sort of really existed and as Samuel Clemens experienced life here. Tomorrow where off to see the Twain museum and his house etc etc I still have this huge bag under my eye but my sight is normal again. Quite a relief as I can see what I type. Fred

I write this stuff down anyway for my own purposes. Fred PS Today was a rather calm day. Arrived in Hannibal and couldn't find the campground. Had to travel 8 miles the wrong way because we couldn't turn around anywhere. Then got back and pulled in to the Hannibal Caves Campground. Very nice place. We settled in a little more then usual as we're staying here two whole days> :-) I put together a grill which some people on RV groups recommended highly (Thermos 2). It collapses and can be carried from place to place in two pieces. Our friends arrived from Columbia and we went to get something to eat and then entered the caves which Mark Twain.used to explore. It's quite an amazing place - I mean huge. Then it was time to test out the grill which went rather well and we struggled to get a camp fire going at $.60 per pieice of green wood. Trouble was we didn't have any newspapers and all of our trash was empty. So we did took some time to get that going but there was success and we had hot dogs and s'mores around a nice campfire. My granddaughter was especially proud to give us all lessons in how to make these things as she's a girlscout where this is apparently the food of the day. Fred

Hi Fred, Enjoyed your story. Can't wait for the Next installment. You are a Real trooper. Kat
