    3. Dear Pat, The German Church records that I have recently come across give the name of the deceased, followed by place of residence, age, date of death, and date of burial.. Sometimes the last column is empty and I have not spent enough time analyzing the information when it is there to determine what it is. Those church records that I have looked at from German congregations here in the states seem to organize it with the date of death first, followed by burial, name, place of birth, cemetery and then cause of death if known. Perhaps different groups chose different methods of organizing the information. It seems like the early German records are just written out in paragraph form. I really like it when they got to the column method of recording. It sure simplifies it for us nonGerman speaking folks. From my experience this seemed to occur around 1840. Sounds like you are finding information and that sure makes genealogy a worthwhile hobby. Sara in Alaska
