Palintines does refere to a region of Germany but our mostly English imigration officers/boat captains decided if you came from Germany you where probably Palentine. I recommend anyone interested to do a search on " The Great Palatine Migration" very good and also the book "The Lutherans in North America" Edited by E. Clifford Nelson it gives a good account of what our ancestors went through.
