My ancestor Jean-Adam Thofft was born about 1758 in Thuringia, Germany. He came to Canada with the British Army during the Revolutionary war. When his regiment left Canada, he deserted and remained in Quebec province. He married Josephte St.-Louis in Nicolet, Quebec on February 14, 1791. They later changed their name to Dufft and then to Duff. Jean-Adam Thofft died in Becancour, Quebec ion November 7, 1826. Who were his parents? Did he have any brothers and sisters.
