My gggrandfather was Christian Gottlieb Doelz born 4/1/1833 in Muntscha.Came to Hartford Conn in 1854. In 1856 married Philipena Peck Pesche and moved to Platteville, Wisconsin in 1860. Served in Civil War Wisconsin 44th regiment. Had 8 children. I'm new to this list and am seeking advice on how to secure records such as birth or baptism from Menscha area in Germany.
