The place of residence of the Ahrenberg family given in the NY passenger list in 1851 is Kohlenfeldt. It is not listed in Rudolf's gazetteer nor in Neuman's 1894 gazetteer. Does it appear in Mueller's Grosses Orts-Lexikon von Deutschland or another early gazetteer? HCD

HCD I know a location called Kolenfeld today, it is about 15 km west of Hannover close to the Autobahn. 1851 it belonged to the Kindom of Hanover. * Dieter
