Someone please tell me how to get into the records of the Morman Church. The address I have always comes back with no name listed and my dad folks have been her since 1854. My mothers folks have been here since 1774 and the address I have has no record of either or me and I'm been here 77 years. Help. sWayne Ulbricht---dale6755@juno.com.
Wayne The records in the IGI and Ancestral Files on the LDS site is information submitted by people like ourselves to the church for inclusion in their files. If the information was never submitted then there would be no records. I've never found any of my family in their IGI and Ancestral files but have found thousands of them on microfilm of German church records that I obtained from them. Someday I will submit all the information I have on my family and then it will be available to anyone and everyone. If you go into their sites Family History Catalog you can search for information by name and place. If there have been records microfilmed you will see information about them, the film number etc and then you can go to your nearest LDS library and order the film for a nominal fee. Usually the loan period is about 4 weeks; they have microfilm readers available at their libraries. For instance, I do research in Rodheim Hessen. I search on Rodheim and pull a list of all the records available, then I order them. Good luck!
