The writer (autorefilm) was Hanns Heinz Ewers, the principal actor was Paul Wegener, and director was Stellan Rye. This film is noted for its fabulous photography effects; furthermore the fantasy aspect of the film was also a trait of German cinema which climaxed and developed into the German Expressionist period of 1920. Has anyone ever seen this silent movie in its entirety? I just watched a very short clip of it on YouTube. Would anyone like to explain how prevalent or influential was the German culture during that period in comparison with other cultures in the region. It seems this film was made specifically for the German audience. Moses Moses C.
