    3. Brandt, the way you stated it, is absolutely correct, however, if you use a Genealogical Program, your input will be overruled to present day geography, so it will say Rosvadov, Czech Republic. Historically this is totally wrong, because at that time, the Czech Republic did not exist But it is set up this way so that people can find the geographical location on present day maps. So here is what I suggest you do. On the Profile card of your ancestors, you will find a space for "comments" or "event" or "Miscellaneous information". Click on that to open......It is there where you can write a short explanation or cite a reference source. 3. Brandt, I think that actapublica.eu is a joint project between different countries and institutions. I believe it's hosted, however, by the Moravian Provincial Archives in Brně. You might use that information for your source repository, but I'd recommend using a source citation that uses the author (e.g., church or civil institution) of the document as the lead element. For the 1865 place name, you should use the ecclesiastical or political jurisdictions as seen in the source document. If your genealogy software fully supports the GEDCOM 5.5 standard from 1995, then it should allow you to define this. If not, you may need to conform to some prescribed way of entering it, and you should, as Aida suggested, make note of that actual location elsewhere. Or, if you're not too deep into using your current software program, consider changing to one better suited to your needs. If the source material is a religious document, e.g., parish register, then I wouldn't know what to recommend for the ecclesiastical jurisdictions. Perhaps someone on this list has a map or historical information on the religious institution that produced it. If the source material is a civil marriage register, then you'd use political jurisdictions. In that case, I think in 1865 it would have been the "Austrian Empire" without the Hungarian, i.e., ..., Königreich Böhmen, Kaiserthum Oesterreich. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_Empire Hope that helps!
