    3. Since you know the name and the year Peter Nicholas Beheng was born, you should start at the Ellis Island register to find the shiplist,perhaps there is a notation on it as to his origin. If not enough info is given, you can then go to the Bremen shiplist (if he sailed from there) to search there. Once you have a connection to the place where he was born, you can zoom in on more information from German records. Also go to the death register and census records because sometimes they are listing information that can help to break through a barrier. Key in "Family Search" for recent data input.
