Hi everyone, I'm researching my MANN and ORTMANN families that lived in Plan in the Tachau district, Bohemia (Plana, Czech Republic today). I've used Actapublica to view various parish death registers and see that each record seems to note the house number (in Arabic numbers) and district of the town (in Roman numerals) where the person lived/ died. Wondering if there is any modern or historical map available that shows the districts and house numbers of Plan so I can get a sense of where they lived (and maybe track some family migration within the town). I've looked up Plan/Plana on mapy.cz and though you can drill down to house numbers on the modern map, there is no indication of where the districts were in the 19th century -- or even if house numbers today would correspond to those over 100 years ago. As an example, in 1875 one individual died at house 68-I and then a few years later another close family member died at 34-II. It does not seem that there were more than two Roman numbered districts in Plan but I might have missed others in the registers. Lacking the availability of an actual map, I'd love to know where the dividing lines for the districts in the town fell during that timeframe. It's a pretty granular question I know, but I'd appreciate any help or suggestions listers can offer! Thanks! Joe -- Joseph W.
