Hi Karen, Before so many Portorican and other people of Spanish heritage came to America not so long ago, I believe it was in the 1960's, the Germans were the largest ethnic group in America. My Mother was born in what is today the Czech Republic and she was an Austrian born under the Austrian Empire yet she and her whole family before her were German. Gloria
