I would think a legit bs would have their own domain .. not a free one that comes and goes like tripod??? might be wrong...but I think I'd double think that one Pam ------------------------ Pam, one of my own business websites is at tripod. Karel Kysilka's very important website about Moravian research to include rare maps and charts of court and other districts at various time is also at tripod. When you are savvy enough to create your own web page I don't know why you should pay someone else $2000-3000 to do it for you -- especially if you are trying to get something started and cannot foot that kind of expense at the beginning. A domain name can be had for $35 depending on where you apply. Then it becomes expensive to register it with various search engines -- too expensive for many startups. Many "private" domain names are used by scammers with the "Nigerian scam" and the "UK travel agent scam" or "UK lottery scam" being typical. I don't believe that I would avoid any business just because it did not have its own domain name or a "professional" website. Karen
