Ancestry.com announced that they now have US Census database from 1790-1930 on line at their website. I assume it is indexed but have not visited the site to find out as yet. Other genealogy database indexes generally offer a choice to find exact names or sound-alike names along with exact names. When that choice is offered it is a good idea to use it. As an example, my Bregel surname also appears in US Census spelled Brigel or Briegal....for the same family. Since the announcement was in morning newspapers it may be best to wait a week or so to try to use the database if you subscribe to Ancestry.com or access their websites via a public library or LDS FHC. The website may be overloaded for a while so all you might get when you visit it is a message to try again later. Ancestry says they are the only source for that particular database on line. Karen
