German Bohemians were citizens of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and many called themselves Austrian. Go to the LDS : familysearch.org On the home page type: kachlmeier in the surname search space and click on search. There are a lot of interesting hits. Do a second search with Kachlmeyer. There were some changes in the border between Bavaria (now Germany) and Bohemia off and on during the 18th century.
