Just click on a title and read the Title Details. Never give up on a title in the LDS catalog because the immediate information seems wrong. Always check the title details and film details. Film notes often include years not mentioned in titles and title details include additional place names, etc. Get a map so you know all the names of little places near Eisenstrasse and look for a Linzmayer from Eisenstrasse of one of those places (within 25 km) in the films when you get them. To find Eisenstrasse church records may require hiring a professional researcher who can look at what is available in Pilsen or another regional archive. There are Germans and Czechs who do this research. Ewald Keil's lexicon of Sudeten place names indicates that Eisenstrasse is in the community of Markt (Market town) Eisenstein. So Parish records should be under that place name. At the VSFF website you can find lists of church records available for given parishes (mostly in Czech archives). http://www.genealogienetz.de/reg/SUD/sudet.html Click on the link: for the letter "E" on that page. Look for Eisenstrasse. If it is not there look for Eisenstein. Click on any word all or part of which is "Kirchenbuch" Print the page that comes up and keep it as a reference. Study it off line for years of interest. Another method is to make an Internet search on Google.com. Search with: Markt Eisenstein If you do not read German, click on the bracketed [translate this page] next to the correct hit. It will show you the Kirchenbuch in readable English. NOTE that there is a record for Bayer. Eisenstein Pfarrsprengel 1733-1784 (Anm.2, s.unten) Bayer.Eisenstein 1785-1809 (s.oben) That means that during that period the parish church for at least some of Eisenstein was located inside Bavaria. Bayer. means Bayerische or Bavarian.. There is one other resource that may be useful ... the index to the Berni Rula of 1654. If Linzmayer is listed there (by that or any sound-alike spelling) you will know that surname was already in Bohemia by then and where it was found. The book lists only family surnames for those with enough assets to pay taxes. Those who were still too poor are not listed. Thus a missing surname does not necessarily mean it was not already in Bohemia. The composite index is in two volumes, was published around 2002.-03. There may also be a separate book for the Klattau / Klatovy region and for Budweis / Budejovice available for interlibrary loan from various US university libraries. . Tell your local research librarian to search for the books under the keyword Berni Rula or / and Berni Ruly. Tell her to look for titles related to 1654 and then for one with Plzensky Kraj. That should include Klatovsky, Klatovy, Klatovsko or any other word with Klatov..... at its beginning. If the data indicates there is another book for Klattau area, order that one and the Plzenky Kraj book, too. Get that first and if you don't find the surname in it somewhere near Eisenstein then decide which of the other books you want. There may be a long wait for the composite index so do not put a time limit on the loan request. There may also be a fee unless you order through a collegiate (vs. public) library system. In 1654 there were not as many Kraj (regions) as there were later on. There was no Budweiser Kreis / Budejovicky Kraj as there is now. The correct book for an area south of the Pilsen region may be Prachensky Kraj. Try that one next. Austria was at war with France off and on from 1793-1815 which meant a lot of recruiting in the years when the war flared up. That could have be en one reason people chose to leave Bohemia during that period. Karen
