It is in Kreis Klattau, the Gemiende of Neuern. The village can be found on the main road 190 between Zelezna Ruda and Nyrsko. It had a population of a bit over 400 souls. There was, indeed, a huge migration of peoples from this area to Bukovina. Check with the Bukovina Society at: www.bukovinasociety.org for more information. Bob Paulson
Robert, Thank you for your reply. I had located Eisenstrass using MapQuest. My challenge is to find the birth record and marriage record for Jacob Linzmayer and his two wives, Anna and Barbara, and the birth records of their children. I found on the net that the Church records for Eisenstrass and other villages in that area are archived in Plzen, Czech Republic. They go back to 1681.Could it be possible that my Jacob is a brother to one of the Johann Adams Linzmayers I mentioned in my earlier email. It would be very interesting to find the records of the families of the parents of the two Johann Adam Linzmayers namely Georg Linzmayer born abt 1799 in Eisenstrass married to Anna Kollner and Johann Georg Linzmayer married to Eva Millbauer. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Paulson [mailto:rpaulgb@comcast.net] Sent: Monday, March 06, 2006 8:24 AM To: GERMAN-BOHEMIAN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [GERMAN-BOHEMIAN] Jacob Linzmayer on 3/5/06 8:55 PM, Wilfred Linzmayer at wilflinz@nucleus.com wrote: > > I am new to the list and live in Canada.I am searching for information on > the birth and marriage for Jacob Linzmayer, his first wife,Anna, and his > second wife,Barbara.
